Course Program
Welcome to “Working with RESTful APIs”! This course is the fourth in a 5-course series designed to prepare you for the PCPP1 – Certified Professional in Python Programming 1 certification exam. In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of network programming in Python, how to use sockets, and how to communicate with RESTful APIs using CRUD methods. You will also get familiar with JSON and XML files, and learn HTTP methods such as GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE.
Module 1: Basic Concepts of Network Programming
Learn about networks, layers, the Internet, and network sockets, including domains, addresses, ports, protocols, and services; understand clients and servers.
Module 2: How to Use Sockets in Python
Create sockets, connect to a server, request documents, close connections, handle HTTP clients, process server responses, and manage exceptions.
Module 3: Introduction to JSON
Work with JSON files and process them using Python’s JSON module.
Module 4: Introduction to XML
Understand XML files and how to process them in Python.
Module 5: HTTP Made Simple - The Requests Module
Simplify HTTP operations using the requests module in Python.
Modul 6: CRUD - How to Build a Simple REST Client
Implement Create, Read, Update, and Delete operations to interact with RESTful APIs.
